Church of San Rafael. Road Guard
A beautiful church with spectacular views
The Church Of San Rafael is located in the center of the town, turning right when entering the main street of the village. Begun to build in 1786 by order of Bishop Abbot I La Sierra, and within its plan to provide churches with as many parishioners as possible, it took eleven years to be completed, since the beginning of the works was financed with the money of the faithful themselves.
An Atypical Church
Perhaps This is the most atypical of the churches of the island, because despite having a square plant with chapels to its sides, the impression from the outside looks like a smaller square floor with additional additives. In Addition the cover is topped with an Arabic-looking tower, very unusual. It Also has two 19TH-century porches.
