Bastion of Sant Pere. History and culture

Bastion of Sant Pere. Cultural Activities in Ibiza

In the street leading to the Cathedral Square we find a small door to the history of the island.

The Bastion Of Sant Pere is one of the seven pentagonal pieces that compose the Wall Of Dalt Vila, the upper city. It Began to be built in 1555, after the bastions of Sant Jordi and Sant Jaume, which are joined by a curtain. Its current form takes Place at the end of the SIXTEENTH century when the Knight of Sant LLuc is added. In fact it is an elevation of the bastion that allows to place a piece of artillery from which to counteract a possible attack to another bastion.
